Former KVDA Director Wants Board Disbanded

A former KVDA Director has moved to court seeking to disband the KVDA board. Daniel Pkurket Lomukereng claims that the Kerio Valley Development Authority board is unlawful and illegal as it is presently constituted.Former MD David Kimosop is also in court to challenge the Board’s decision to sack him. Lomukereng argues that there should not be more than 10 board members.Trouble started early this year when the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) and the Director of Public Prosecutions opened investigations on the Authority concerning Sh21billion meant for building dams in Kimwarer and Arror in Elgeiyo Marakwet County.

 

The board was appointed in Febrary by Adan Mohamed the Cabinet Secretary for East African Community and Reional Development. They were given a term of 3 years. Board members are Grace Were, James Kiprop, Susan Chesiyna, Andrew Njenga Karumbo, Lenoard Sang, Eric Kipkemei Bett, Adan Omar, Pauline Lenguris, Fransisca Ereng, and George Muriuki Iringu.

The case is in the high court in Eldoret, Kenya.
