An elderly man in Nandi County lost his life in a suspected criminal attack right after he was paid a Sh 50,000 coffee bonus.
The farmer was found dead at his home in Mogoiywa, Aldai County.
Kibii Chumo was also a recipient of government stipends meant for the elderly. He was found by a passerby who noticed his lifeless body and blood. Chumo lived alone.
The old man had traveled to Kapsabet town where he collected the money. He appeared to have succumbed to multiple stab wounds on his arms, legs, and head. The local OCPD reported that the victim seemed to have fought the killers.
