Expectations are high in Uasin Gishu County as residents await president Uhuru Kenyatta’s visit tomorrow. The President will be attending the Relaunch of Rivatex textile factory which was revived by Moi University a few years ago.Rivatex is in Kapseret Constituency where MP Oscar Sudi is a staunch defender of the Tanga Tanga movement that the president has fiercely opposed. Sudi has opposed the famous ‘handshake’ between President Uhuru and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago has taken a more moderate stance on the 2022 succession politics. The textile firm was restarted by Moi University after remaining idle for 20 years.
The firm is in Eldoret, Kenya.
