Youths Paid Sh 300,000 for Fake KDF Slots

99 fake KDF recruits were arrested at Eldoret’s Moi Barracks last Sunday. 9 of the 99 were women. The youth had been duped into buying fake appointment letters. KDF officials said that the youth who were captured were victims of a recruitment scam. They said they had warned the public against paying unscrupulous people who pretended to be agents of the Kenya Defence Forces.

The youth are said to have paid millions of shillings for fake appointment letters. Col Paul Njuguna, speaking for the KDF said that recruitments are only conducted within gazetted centers, and that some of the youths were arrested for bribing them with Sh 300,000.
